On 14th November 2012 PBPro.tv won a Media Innovation Award in the Radio/Audio/Music category at a glittering ceremony held at the BBC Studios in Bristol. ( 2nd year in a row.)

We won the award for the 6.1 surround sound audio mix we created for the Ocean Drifters film.

Ocean Drifters is a unique 360° immersive film experience narrated by Sir David Attenborough FRS.

Combining stunning photography, in never seen before detail and colour, with cutting edge 360° filmmaking and projection plus studio quality 6.1 surround sound audio.

Viewers are taken on a breathtaking journey through the microscopic world of plankton revealing its importance to our everyday life and survival.

Discover how our landscape is shaped by these tiny creatures and how we have become dependent on them to power our industries and homes.

Building on many years of research by Dr Richard Kirby, this film gives viewers a glimpse into the colourful life of plankton.

Created by Patrick Bishop of PBPro.tv in collaboration with Dr Richard Kirby, viewers can explore the diverse range of plankton in our oceans from single celled diatoms right through to the larger predator plankton roaming our seas.

An original music score composed by Richard Grassby-Lewis underpins and enhances the films story and message to great effect.

Ocean Drifters was premiered in London at the Royal Society Summer Exhibition to an unprecedented reception.

During the 6 days of the show, more than 7,000 visitors enjoyed the immersive experience.
